While making this image a passerby chucked the remnants of a Super Slurpie into the stinky trash bin near the camera–it splashed out and almost soiled the lens two feet below. Hazards of the process. The Empire State building sneaks in from the bottom left, but I like the bird. This daily post is for Jared, Sandy, and Rebecca (who I hope made her flight safely back to Amsterdam).

Union Square New York
The Metronome sculpture is quite intriguing on the south side of 14th St on Union Square in Manhattan. I love the hand and opted to leave the bicycle handle bar in the frame. (I did have to move a stinky garbage can to make room for the camera).
The Flat Iron Building
I approached this subject several times to find the right light and to beat the morning rush hour pedestrians. I like how, even though Straight Up, the Flat Iron still holds its characteristic and detailed wedge.
Katz’s Deli
All I can say is Pastrami sandwich…best in the city. And who hasn’t seen “When Harry Met Sally”
Louise Nevelson Plaza
This is the first image I made in the Straight Up series which affirmed the project.
Brooklyn Bridge
There is a peregrine falcon in this image, can you find it? It’s abstract.
